Yesterday we went to the local amusement park. It was supposed to be me and my girls. My daughter
Markie enjoys all the adventure rides that Ruby will not even consider, so I thought a ride mate would be in order. Considering the options I decided on my nephew William. I asked my mom what she thought and she was in agreement. You'd have to know my mom to know that this was not the end of the conversation. Soon I was inviting William's brother Cletis, then my sister Sandy, her mate Travis and her son, Juan. I was all for this larger but manageable group - again, not the end of the story. Later my mom calls to ask if another sister (who I am currently not fond of) and her mate could go- uhh, NO. Then my nephew from a different sibling called to ask if he and his mate could go (he currently lost a job because he was too "sore" after working overtime) again, NO. Now mind you, these requests are not a simple "can I go?", these requests are accompanied by my mom footing the bill.
My siblings have a very skewed concept of time.....my sister Sandy and I agreed to leave our homes at 11:00 and meet at the park entrance At 10:50 Sandy calls me to make sure I'm good to leave on time. I take this as a good sign that she must also be ready to leave. I left at 11:00 and headed to the park, despite 2 stops to find ice I got to the park at 11:40. Calling Sandy I expected to find that she was already there since she lives closer, but NOOOOO. They are at Walmart near the freeway, by her house! In disgust I told her to call me when she got to the park, went inside and parked. Then in true fashion I called mom to complain about her children.
